Salvation
How many of you reading this are tired of being miserable? How many of you
seem to have joy in your life only to lose it the next second? How about fear!
How often do circumstances come in your life bringing fear and worry to your
heart? Are you tired of being beat down? Are you ready for a change? Would you
like to have constant joy, peace, rest, security and authority over every evil
thing that comes against you? Well then, let me introduce you to my best
friend and my brother. By the way, He is also my Lord and my Savior. His name
is Jesus and He has given me those wonderful things in my life. And He would
love to do the same thing for you!
Jesus, who is God in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16), who created all things in this world (Ephesians 3:9), was born into this world with one purpose. His purpose, to die! Jesus (God in the flesh), came into this world to proclaim Jubilee (freedom from all things with peace and rest) (Luke 4:18,19) to every person willing to receive. Jesus would die a brutal death at Calvary’s cross, shed his precious blood to forgive mankind of their sins, remove their inherited (inward) sins, bring peace to lives and heal every manner of sickness and disease (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus wants you to be free! Without Jesus Christ it is impossible for anyone to meet God (John 14:6). Every person that will enter heaven will do so by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. This is not "religion," this is Christianity. You see, religion is all over the world with all types of people worshipping all types of gods. Religion is simply, man’s intentions to get close to God. And let me let you in on something. You cannot get close to God, God has to get close to you! That is what Christianity is. God’s way to get close to mankind. God’s desire is not for mankind to spend their life on earth in sin (2 Peter 3:9). Nor is it the will of God for the devil to rule over you (Hebrews 2:14,15). God’s will is for mankind to receive power from on high (Acts 1:8). That is the power we receive from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit moves on the inside of us and quickens our spirits to commune with God (Romans 8:11). With that power, we not only have authority to tread on evil and all the power of the devil (Luke 10:19), we not only will be protected by God and His anointed Word (Hebrews 4:12, Ephesians 6:17), but we also become a child of God (Romans 8:14). By receiving the Holy Spirit you become recreated into what God ordained you to be (2 Corinthians 5:17). Back into His image. You become the image of God (Genesis 1:27)! And as a child conforms to the image of his father, you become a child of God. You now conform to the image of God. You have power from the Holy Spirit to go out and be more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). No weapon that is formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The devil cannot steal your joy ever again (John 1:11). You are now an heir of God (Galatians 4:7). What is His, is yours! Eternal life, peace, joy and a home in heaven (John 3:15, Romans 5:1, Romans 15:13, John 14:2,3). All of this made possible by the blood of Jesus Christ. You see, God loved the world so much that He sent Jesus Christ into this world to die for all of mankind (John 3:16). Jesus died and entered hell so we would not have to (Acts 2:31). After three days Jesus was resurrected from the dead and later ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father (Mark 8:31, Mark 16:19). This same Jesus who is alive today, rules at the right hand of God. He is not dead. He has defeated the dead and the devil (1 Corinthians 15:54,55). The battle has already been won. He says that we can have this also. All we have got to do is believe in what Jesus Christ and His shed blood has done for us. If you confess that Jesus Christ is Lord with your mouth and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). But to believe is an action. A man once told me that he believed in Jesus. I asked him if he went to church, prayed, read the Bible or ever told others about Jesus. He answered "no" to each one. I then asked him why he went to work, why he drove his car to work, why he would eat the food he eats when he is hungry and why he was always so quick to sit in the chair he was in. You see, all of the things this man was doing (action), was a direct result of what he believed. He believed that he was going to get a paycheck at work. He believed that his car would get him to his job. He believed that the food he ate would cure his hunger. He believed that his chair would hold the weight of his body. Do you see it! If he did not believe in these things to do what he expected them to do then he would have never done them. Therefore, believing is an action and those that believe in Jesus Christ will exercise their beliefs the moment they are touched by the Holy Spirit. You may ask, "How do people exercise their beliefs when they become saved?" Well, when a person becomes saved they should want to tell those around them. They had just gotten saved from hell and others need to know about it so they can receive it too. A Christian should not want anyone to go to hell. Another way you exercise your belief is by becoming a new creation. The old life a person lives should be done away with. The things that a Christian does should be done to glorify God. Let's say a person comes to Jesus Christ as an alcoholic, drug addict, homosexual, racist or any other addiction in life. When the Holy Spirit truly moves on the inside of you and you become that new creation, all those things that are out of the will of God are removed from your life. That is the job of Christ, to remove your burdens and destroy your yokes (Isaiah 10:27). A Christian will be led by God and live out His desires for your life. He also does those things written in the Word of God. When the Word says to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), always give thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:18), abstain from all that is evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22), go to church (Hebrews 10:25) and to continue reading the Word of God (John 8:31), a believer in that Word will do those things. A believer in Jesus Christ is a believer in the Word, because Jesus Christ is the Word (John 1:1-3). Now that you know the things that a believer exercises when they are touched by the Holy Spirit, let me ask you the greatest question on the earth. Are you ready to be touched? This is where you can draw the line. This is where you can remove every addiction in life, every bit of sorrow you have, all of your fears and all your worries. This is where the devil stops beating you up and you begin to place him under your feet (Psalm 91:13). This is where you put on love, joy, peace, rest and security. This is the only place where you can say that you win. Everything else is loss, but you win in Jesus Christ. Would you like to be a child of the living God? Would you like to take a trip with me to the throne of God? Would you like a deep personal relationship with God? Would you like to know Jesus as your best friend? He is a great friend! I tell you nothing but the truth. Make God your Father today. Let today be the first day of the rest of your life! He loves you and I love you too. Simply pray. Dear God,
I come before you in the name of your Son, Jesus, thanking you for loving me
so much to give your Son. I acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God and I also
believe He died on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day and now sits
at your right hand. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and
Savior of my life and I thank you for making me a child of God whereby I have
access to God as my Heavenly Father.
In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen
If you prayed that prayer please let us know. We would love to congratulate you and encourage you in the Lord . |
